REGISTER HERE to attend the 2018 DC Prisoner and Reentry Symposium: Envisioning a New Jail.  The Symposium, hosted by the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia's Community Defender Division and the Corrections Information Council (CIC), will provide information to the community and criminal justice stakeholders who will later be actively engaged in the discussion and planning around a new jail for the District of Columbia.

Experts and practitioners will provide information on the following five areas: Alternatives to Incarceration; Programming; Design; Funding; and Promising Practices. Local and national agencies that will participate in this event include:

Join us as we endeavor to gain a better understanding of the process of actualizing a new, functional facility that is conducive to reentry.

The Symposium will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018, from 9am to 5pm. The Symposium will be held at the DC Bar, in its new building at 901 4th St NW, which is conveniently located north of the Judiciary Square Metro (Red Line). There is also parking in the building's garage, street parking, and public parking lots next to the building and one block over on 5th St NW. Lunch will be provided.
